For the school year of 2020/2021, I am thankful to have the opportunity to teach at North London Collegiate School in Jeju, South Korea. Although this experience is not exactly as I had imagined it (because of the pandemic), I am still enjoying my time with these new students and colleagues on a beautiful little island. Not only do I get to hold my son's hand as we walk to school together, I get to explore and create with two other dance teachers and many new students.
With my year eights, I have had the pleasure of participating in an Opera production of, The Magical Flute.
During our first co-curricular block, I started a small hip hop team called the Jeju Beez.
I got to make dances with my year fives for the Christmas concert.

In December, I lead a wellness dance session with all the year tens. We played, My 5,6,7,8 is Your 1,2,3,4. The students had some pretty awesome moves to share.

After the winter break and leading up to spring break, I had the amazing opportunity to collaborate on a production of, Alice in Wonderland, with some amazing colleagues and students.

In February, I had the opportunity to lead a hip hop class for the teachers on a professional development day. The teachers did amazing.

The NLCS Staff Street Dance class continued in the spring on Saturdays after Bryant. Dancing with my colleagues is a memory that I will always cherish. It was a great way to connect and just have fun after a long week. Thank-you to everyone that took time to come and dance with me!

For Dance Enrichment week in May, I got to present a lecture about Global Artistic Collaboration in the theatre for the year nines.

Also, during Dance Enrichment week, we taught the year seven to tens the Jerusalema Dance. They practiced for a week and we filmed each year group in different parts of the school.

The Sand Dance Project is a huge dream come true. I was happy to be involved with this international collaboration. The chreography is from California. It was danced by the NLCS Dance Teachers and GAP who are from, Ireland, New Zeland, Canada, and the UK. We danced it on Gwakji beach in South Korea. I am so thankful for getting to be part of this project and for having awesome colleagues who jump right in. That is exactly what we did after the sand dance to try and get all the sand off.

This is the projection mapping of Geoman at the opening ceremonies for Arts Week. I had nothing to do with this but I think it is amazing. I would really like to learn how to create this kind of a performance and how to integrate it with dance.

Here is an amazing collaboration with students and staff at NLCS London, Singapore, and Jeju.
